FISHING CALENDER FOR THE SACRAMENTO AND FEATHER RIVER
Steelhead fishing begins in late October and typically lasts until Febuary depending on river conditions. Most of these fish are larger than our typical river trout and are hard fighting fish. They migrate into the river system from the ocean and travel up the river following the salmon migration.
The trout fishing on the Sacramento River is a world class trout fishery. The best times for trout fishing tend to be in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. We typically throw spoons, spinners, and run plugs for our spin fishing trips. Fly Fishing trips are also offered and you can bring your own gear, or use ours. Most of the fly fishing is indicator fishing with Nymphs.
Salmon fishing - The season is closed with no expected re opening as of 2023'
Striped Bass fishing is best during the months of April, May, June, and July. The schools of fish migrate up from the Bay Area and Delta up into our local river system. Although these fish can be in the river year round, the best fishing is in the Spring.
Shad fishing is only offered during the months of late April and June. These are hard fighting and exciting fish to land. If you have never tried your luck for them, you should.
